The Stamford Public School District website is www.stamfordpublicschools.org. School cancellations and delays will be posted on the site by 6 a.m. on school days.

Regular School Day- 8:10 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.

Early Release Days: 12:30 p.m. dismissal 

The district uses School Messenger/Remind for automatic notifications regarding snow cancellations and delays. It’s crucial for families to update their contact information with their school's main office to ensure they can be reached in emergencies. Additionally, school cancellations and delays are announced on regional TV and radio stations.

In the mornings, we supervise students in the front lobby for 15 minutes before the school day starts: at 7:40 a.m. on regular days and 9:40 a.m. on delayed openings. Please note that there is no supervision before these times, so students should not be dropped off earlier for their own safety. 

It’s essential to pick up your child between 2:40 p.m. and 2:55 p.m. if they are a car rider or walker. If your child does not follow their usual routine or isn’t picked up by you or a designated person at dismissal time, we will contact those listed on your emergency card. To avoid this, ensure your child’s pick-up arrangements are clear. Any changes in your child’s transportation must be communicated via a note to both the teacher and the main office. Telephone requests without written notification will not be accepted.

For custodial or guardianship matters, please provide the necessary documentation. Without legal papers specifying limitations, we must allow any parent to see or take their child. Proper documentation, such as divorce decrees, guardianship terms, or court restraining orders, will help us act appropriately in these situations.
